LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) Suthra Punjab sanitation teams remained fully mobilized to preserve the beauty of Lahore, particularly the Walled City and adjoining areas, as a special cleanliness operation was carried out across Ravi Town.
On the directions of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) CEO Shehryar Arif Khan, 254 operational vehicles and more than 1,900 sanitation workers and officers have been deployed in Ravi Town across three shifts, said a press release issued here on Friday.
In addition, 347 loader rickshaws have been assigned for door-to-door waste collection in the town.
As part of the special cleanliness arrangements, Suthra Punjab teams completed waste clearance and manual sweeping at Latif Chowk, Begum Kot, Shama Colony, Kamran Baradari and areas surrounding the Tomb of Jahangir.
Clearance of all identified hotspots and plots, including Bhutto Colony, Shahdara Town bus stop, Haji Kot and Kala Khattai Road was also ensured.
LWMC CEO Shehryar Arif Khan said practical measures are being taken to make all towns zero-waste in phases under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of “Suthra Punjab”. “Providing citizens with a clean and healthy environment is our top priority,” he said.
