HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) Hyderabad police have intensified their crackdown on the sale and distribution of mainpuri, gutka and narcotics, arresting nine suspects in separate operations across the city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Tandojam police arrested three suspects, while Baldia and Husri police apprehended two suspects each. Market and Pinyari police also arrested one suspect each during their respective actions.
Police said the arrests were made as part of ongoing efforts to curb the sale of prohibited substances and protect citizens, particularly young people, from their harmful effects.
The suspects were subsequently booked in separate FIRs under relevant provisions of the Narcotics Control Act and the Sindh Prohibition of Preparation, Manufacturing, Storage, Sale and Use of Gutka and Mainpuri Act, 2019.
The police maintained that action against those involved in the preparation, storage and sale of gutka, mainpuri and narcotics would continue as part of efforts to control the illegal trade and maintain public safety.
