Commissioner Orders Better Fire Safety At Childrens Hospital

MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem, on Friday visited the Children’s Hospital and reviewed fire safety arrangements in detail.

Dean of the Children’s Hospital Dr Kashif Chishti briefed the commissioner on the existing fire safety measures and arrangements at the facility.

During the visit, Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan inspected the Children’s Emergency, nursery and other sections of the hospital. He also visited the gas cylinder storage area and reviewed the safety measures in place.

The commissioner directed the hospital administration to make emergency exit signage more prominent and improve fire safety signboards across different sections so that they were clearly visible and easily understandable.

He also ordered that clear, pictorial and step-by-step instructions for operating firefighting equipment be displayed at appropriate locations.

He stressed that hospital staff, security guards and other relevant personnel must receive practical training on the use of firefighting equipment during a fire emergency.

“Staff must be properly trained in the use of firefighting equipment and their responsibilities in case of a fire emergency,” Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan said.

He further directed the administration to display fire safety awareness material and instructional charts in hospital wards, particularly in a simple and pictorial format to facilitate patients, attendants and visitors during an emergency.

The commissioner emphasized the need to further strengthen fire safety arrangements throughout the hospital and ensure that all preventive and emergency response measures remained fully functional.

During the visit, he also interacted with patients and their attendants and inquired about the medical facilities and services being provided to them.
