MIRPURKHAS, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Sep, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Mirpurkhas Shahmeer Khan Bhutto, accompanied by senior district and health officials, conducted a comprehensive visit to the healthcare facilities at the Old Civil Hospital and the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital here on Thursday.
The Commissioner was accompanied during the visit by Additional Commissioner-I Subhash Chandar, Additional Commissioner-II Afshan Sheikh, Deputy Commissioner Nawab Sameer Hussain Laghari, and District Health Officer Mirpurkhas Dr. Sandeep Kumar. Also present were Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Dr. Hemji Chouhan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Majid Khan, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Bughio representing Anjuman Falah-o-Bahbood-e-Insaniyat, and Office Superintendent Sher Muhammad Chaniho, alongside other officials.
During his inspection of the Dialysis Centre at the Old Civil Hospital, Dr. Umme Rabab briefed the Commissioner, stating that the facility operates with 15 government employees and 10 private staff members. Taking serious note of operational hurdles, Commissioner Bhutto directed Deputy Commissioner Nawab Sameer Hussain Laghari to immediately convene a meeting of the designated committee to make the center fully functional and resolve all existing difficulties.
He further instructed the center’s in-charge to submit a detailed working paper outlining operational requirements so that necessary facilities could be provisioned following committee approval.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited various blocks of the DHQ Hospital, including the Emergency Male and Female Wards, Dental Ward, General OPD, Orthopaedic Ward, Cardiac Ward, Operation Theatre, and Administration Block, as well as the medical store room.
Reviewing sanitation standards, Commissioner Bhutto directed Medical Superintendent Dr. Hemji Chouhan to ensure impeccable cleanliness and hygiene across all departments while strictly guaranteeing the uninterrupted provision of quality healthcare services to incoming patients. Interacting directly with patients and their attendants in various wards, the Commissioner inquired about the availability of medicines and the standard of medical care being extended to them.
