LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan for 14 days in a case registered over allegedly provocative speeches, arson and rioting at Sherpao Bridge on May 9.
ATC Judge Sardar Muhammad Akram Khan conducted the proceedings. The accused was produced before the court from jail upon expiry of his previous judicial remand.
After hearing the case, the court extended Dewan’s judicial remand for another 14 days and sent him back to jail. The court also directed police to submit the supplementary challan (investigation report) against the accused.
The investigating officer informed the court that the supplementary challan was currently being prepared and would be submitted shortly.
According to police, Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan was present at the scene of the incident and allegedly participated in speeches, arson and rioting at Sherpao Bridge along with other PTI leaders and workers.
Police said Dewan had been arrested in connection with FIR No. 97/23 registered at Sarwar Road Police Station. The case relates to allegations of making speeches and involvement in arson and rioting during the May 9 unrest.
