Pakistan’s leading energy company Parco will provide free Google IT training to 500 students of Dera Ghazi Khan division this year under its social welfare programme to equip youth with modern digital skills and enhance their employment opportunities
DERA GHAZI KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Aug, 2026) Pakistan’s leading energy company Parco will provide free Google IT training to 500 students of Dera Ghazi Khan division this year under its social welfare programme to equip youth with modern digital skills and enhance their employment opportunities.
A formal letter regarding the free Google IT training programme was handed over to Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan division Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry at a meeting.
Chaired by commissioner, the meeting reviewed social welfare initiatives, development projects and security arrangements related to Qasba Gujrat and Midcountry Oil Refinery (Parco).
Parco head of social welfare Nadeem Ajwad Chishti said that 250 students of DG Khan division were provided training in modern IT skills under the Google IT Scholarship Programme with Parco’s support last year, adding that the programme was being expanded this year to include 500 students more, enabling young people to meet the requirements of the digital economy and secure better employment opportunities.
The meeting was also attended by Parco representatives Syed Bilal Abbas, director development Anum Hafeez, Deputy Commissioner Kot Addu barrister Bilal Saleem, District Police Officer Kot Addu Mansoor Qamar and other officers.
Anum Hafeez briefed the meeting on the progress of ongoing development projects, including improvement of Jamco Bypass, establishment of a Model Trauma Centre at Rural Health Centre (RHC) Qasba Gujrat, upgradation of government schools with Parco’s cooperation, restoration of water filtration plants, construction of Parco road and completion of the new building of Qasba Gujrat police station.
She said, Parco road project and new building of Qasba Gujrat police station have been completed.
The meeting reviewed in detail various social welfare and development initiatives being executed in collaboration between the Punjab government and Parco. The projects included clean drinking water filtration plants, upgradation of educational institutions, Model Trauma Centre at RHC, construction and repair of roads, improvement of rescue services and construction and rehabilitation of public buildings.
The participants stressed that all oil marketing companies should ensure a secure environment for Parco, an important national energy lifeline, and strictly implement all safety measures to ensure the security and safety of the vital installation.
Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry directed all departments concerned to complete projects relating to the security and safety of Parco, Qasba Gujrat and improvement of infrastructure in adjoining areas on a fast-track basis.
He said, effective security arrangements coupled with timely completion of development schemes, were essential for ensuring sustainable development of Qasba Gujrat and surrounding areas.
The meeting concluded after Parco officials presented a shield to Director Development Anum Hafeez in recognition of her outstanding services and contribution to development projects.
