MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) Multan Police have separated its Operations and Investigation Wings to streamline policing, enhance professional efficiency and clearly define responsibilities of the two key branches.
The decision was taken on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, who addressed a police Darbar held at Police Lines Multan.
CTO Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar, SSP Operations Haider Ali, SSP Investigation M Tahir, all SPs, SDPOs and other officers of both wings attended the gathering.
Addressing the officers, the CPO said the separation would enable both wings to focus more effectively on their core responsibilities, ultimately improving the overall policing system and providing officers with a clearer operational framework.
He said the Operations Wing would focus on maintaining law and order, preventing crime, patrolling, policing and other field operations, while the Investigation Wing would concentrate on case investigations, collection of evidence, arrest of suspects and timely completion of challans.
Sadiq Ali Dogar said stronger coordination between the two wings would help reduce pending investigations and challans, improve the quality of investigations and facilitate disposal of cases strictly on merit.
He added that the restructuring would also improve workflow, monitoring and accountability within the police force, enabling senior officers to assess performance more effectively and ensuring better delivery of police services to citizens.
The CPO directed officers of both wings to maintain close coordination and cooperation, making the provision of efficient and responsive police services to citizens their foremost priority.
He said the process of police reforms and modernization would continue in Multan to further strengthen crime prevention, maintain law and order and ensure timely justice for the public.
