BUREWALA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st Aug, 2026) A mobile shop owner was taken into custody here on Monday after allegedly assaulting a disabled customer over a dispute about a phone repair.
The arrest followed swift action by District Police Officer Vehari, Tassawar Iqbal, after a video of the incident spread widely on social media.
According to police, Muhammad Altaf had paid an advance to shopkeeper Ali Rizwan for repairing his mobile phone. When Altaf returned to follow up, an argument broke out. Police said the shop owner allegedly resorted to physical violence against the disabled customer during the exchange.
The footage of the altercation quickly went viral, drawing public outrage. Taking notice, DPO Tassawar Iqbal directed the local police to act immediately. A case was registered and Ali Rizwan was arrested from his shop in Burewala.
On this occasion, while exclusively talking to APP, DPO Iqbal said that mistreatment and violence against any citizen, especially vulnerable persons, would not be tolerated. He also added that the police would ensure indiscriminate action against those found violating the law and disturbing public peace.
