MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Aug, 2026) The historic Clock Tower area was sealed off and security tightened on Saturday after an unidentified teenager alerted police to the presence of explosive material in the vicinity.
Police and personnel from sensitive agencies rushed to the scene and launched a search operation immediately after receiving the information.
No evidence of any explosive device was found during the operation, officials said.
The Clock Tower was cordoned off and a search of the surrounding area continued for several hours as a precautionary measure. Shopkeepers in the vicinity shut their businesses and the area witnessed brief panic among residents and traders.
The area was later declared clear after the search operation concluded.
