ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) Member National Assembly and First Lady, Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari has extended warm greetings to the youth of Pakistan and around the world on International Youth Day, and highlighted their potential, resilience and energy as key drivers of national progress and transformation.
In her message issued on the occasion, she said Pakistan had one of the world’s largest youth populations, with 67 percent of its population below the age of 30.
She said young women and men were playing a vital role in the country’s growth and development through technological innovation, education, healthcare, social reforms, public service, sports, arts and culture.
“Their passion, creativity and determination are the foundation upon which the future of Pakistan rests,” she said.
The First Lady stressed that meaningful youth empowerment required providing young people with the necessary tools, opportunities and space to realise their potential. She emphasised equal access to quality education, modern skills, digital technology and meaningful employment opportunities for youth irrespective of gender, background, ethnicity or geographical location.
She described investment in youth as a direct investment in Pakistan’s future, urging all stakeholders to contribute towards creating an enabling environment for the younger generation.
Highlighting the role of young women and girls, Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari said they had an indispensable role in shaping the country’s future. She called for removing systemic barriers to enable young women to pursue education and careers, join the workforce and assume leadership positions.
She also stressed the importance of ensuring that young people belonging to minorities and marginalised communities were empowered to participate fully in national life.
The First Lady called upon civil society, families, parents, educational institutions and relevant government institutions to actively support, mentor and listen to the younger generation.
She said the trust, resources and encouragement provided to young people today would determine the strength, stability and character of the Pakistan they would lead tomorrow.
She expressed hope that the youth of Pakistan would continue to excel and lead the nation towards a brighter, inclusive and prosperous future.
