SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Shakil Ahmed Abro on Tuesday directed all relevant departments to ensure foolproof security arrangements, implementation of the code of conduct, and proper cleanliness across the district on eve of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi across the district.
He issued these directives while jointly chairing a high-level meeting with District Council Chairman Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Kamario at his office to review arrangements for the observance of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, said a press release.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Mohammad Faizan Cheema, ASP Shikarpur, Assistant Commissioners of all four talukas, police officials, and representatives of the education, Health, Municipal, Gas, SEPCO and other relevant departments attended the meeting. Religious scholars representing different schools of thought also participated.
Speaking on the occasion, District Council Chairman Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Kamario said that 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal is a highly significant and sacred occasion. He urged everyone to celebrate the day peacefully and promote brotherhood, harmony and mutual respect.
DC Abro said the purpose of the meeting was to listen the concerns and issues of religious scholars from different schools of thought and ensure their immediate resolution so that the sacred occasion could pass peacefully.
He emphasized that the day is associated with the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and called upon citizens to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by playing their role in maintaining peace, brotherhood, religious harmony and law and order in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all Assistant Commissioners to personally review arrangements in their respective talukas and ensure that local-level issues were resolved without delay.
He also issued strict instructions to municipal authorities to ensure comprehensive cleanliness in all cities and towns and to immediately cover open manholes, particularly along routes used by Milad processions, so that participants would not face any inconvenience. He warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
SEPCO officials were directed to avoid load-shedding during Milad-related events, while gas authorities were also instructed to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply during the celebrations.
He further urged the District Health Officer to keep all doctors, paramedical staff and ambulances on high alert throughout the district on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal so that any emergency or untoward incident could be dealt promptly.
The religious scholars assured the Deputy Commissioner of their full cooperation with the district administration in maintaining peace, religious harmony and a peaceful environment during Milad.
The meeting concluded with a special prayer for peace, prosperity and harmony, followed by a vote of thanks by Deputy Commissioner Shakil Ahmed Abro.
