QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of Akhuwat and officials from relevant departments to review the implementation and expansion of interest-free loan programs for the public.
The meeting was informed that the provincial government has allocated Rs. 6 billion to support initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities, providing solar energy systems, and financing low-cost housing schemes. Officials explained that through Akhuwat, interest-free loans will be rapidly extended to low-income households, youth, and small businesses to generate new sources of livelihood and strengthen the local economy.
The agenda also included the provision of solar systems in various districts, with participants noting that solar energy solutions will play a vital role in ensuring sustainable power supply to rural and off-grid areas.
Plans for extending loans to support low-cost housing projects were also discussed.
Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan urged the departments of Industries and Finance, along with Akhuwat representatives, to ensure that facilities reach the public in a timely and transparent manner. He emphasized that effective coordination and accountability are essential for the success of these welfare programs.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Industries Khalid Sarpara, Secretary Finance Jahangir Kakar, and other senior officials.
