ANP Questions KP CM’s Absence Amid Worsening Provincial Challenges

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Sep, 2026) Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Arsalan Khan Nazim has criticised the provincial government over Chief Minister’s absence from the province, saying the administration should prioritise governance and public issues amid the prevailing security situation.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said the province was facing serious challenges, including terrorism, sacrifices by police personnel, inflation and insecurity, while the government appeared to be preoccupied with political activities.

The ANP spokesperson alleged that the Chief Minister was spending considerable time in Islamabad and attending provincial meetings online, and had now travelled to Sindh along with members of his cabinet.

He questioned the prioritisation of political activities over administrative responsibilities, saying running a provincial government was a full-time responsibility that required the CM’s presence and attention.

Nazim said the people of KP were looking towards the government for solutions to their problems, particularly restoration of peace, protection of police personnel and securing the province’s rights.

He alleged that government affairs had become secondary to political considerations and urged the provincial leadership to focus on governance and the welfare of the people.
