SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Aug, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Mian Sarmad Hussain has said that to
prevent the possible spread of dengue, surveillance, larval destruction and continuous
monitoring of hotspots should be made more effective.
He said this while addressing the meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee
for Dengue Control held at the DC Office Conference Room.
Sarmad Hussain directed that continuity should be maintained in field activities to eradicate dengue, immediate response should be ensured at positive locations revealed during surveillance and citizens should also be made aware of not allowing water to accumulate in their homes, roofs, pots, coolers and other places.
He said that the main objective of an effective strategy against dengue is to identify potential breeding sites of mosquitoes in time, destroy larvae and prevent the spread of the disease, therefore, all the concerned institutions should fulfill their responsibilities with full dedication.
CEO Health Authority Dr. Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry gave a detailed briefing to the meeting about the ongoing anti-dengue activities in the district and the current situation of dengue.
