MIRPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) A phased training programme for officially registered Nikah Khawans (marriage registrars) has been launched across Tehsil Mirpur to familiarize them with the prevailing legal and Shariah requirements governing Nikah and its registration, official sources said on Friday.
The programme is being conducted on the directives of Tehsil Mufti Mirpur Abrar Hussain and aims to enhance the professional capacity of registered Nikah Khawans, enabling them to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws, rules and religious requirements. The training sessions also focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance in the marriage registration process.
The first session was held on August 26 at Masjid Anwar-e-Madina, while the second was organized at Jamia Masjid Noor-ul-Islam, Khari. The third session is scheduled to be held at Jamia Masjid Gulzar-e-Islam, Islamgarh Cross, as part of the phased training programme.
According to the record of the District Mufti Office Mirpur, more than 400 Nikah Khawans are officially registered in the district. Officials said the training sessions would continue in phases to ensure that all registered marriage registrars are adequately acquainted with the legal and Shariah procedures relating to Nikah and its registration.
