Kohat Police Arrest Robbery Suspects, Recover Cash, Kalashnikov And Illegal Arms

KOHAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Kohat police arrested several suspects in separate operations against criminal elements and recovered looted cash, weapons and ammunition from their possession, police said on Friday.

According to police, Jungle Khel Police Station traced a recent robbery case and arrested two suspects, identified as Furqan and Abbas, both residents of Jungle Khel. The arrests were made under the supervision of SHO Waqar Khan on the directives of District Police Officer Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal. Police alleged that the suspects had intercepted complainant Ilyas and his companion at gunpoint, snatched cash and fled the scene. The looted money and weapons allegedly used in the crime were subsequently recovered, while another suspect, Majid, was arrested with a Kalashnikov rifle.

In a separate crackdown, the Ababeel Squad, led by In-charge Habib Qureshi, conducted patrols at various locations in the district and arrested six suspects for allegedly possessing illegal arms.

The arrested individuals were identified as Ajmal Khan, son of Tameez Khan, resident of Bazit Khel; Zubair Khan, son of Umar Khan, resident of Mohammadzai; Abdullah Khan, son of Raees Khan, resident of Afridi Banda; Sabir Ali, son of Sadiq Ali, resident of Khadizai; Salman, son of Hukum Khan, resident of Mohammadzai; and Adnan, son of Muhammad Yousaf, resident of Nusrat Khel.

Police said six pistols, 10 magazines and 103 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the possession of the six suspects. All arrested individuals, along with the recovered weapons and ammunition, were handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action.

Kohat police also reaffirmed their resolve to continue operations against criminal elements and illegal arms holders across the district. Police officials said indiscriminate action would be taken against those involved in criminal activities to maintain peace, protect citizens and strengthen security in the district.
