MIRPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Aug, 2026) The district administration of Mirpur has imposed a ban on the use, flying, purchase and sale of drones and quadcopters across the district under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to maintain law and order and strengthen security arrangements.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Mirpur Chaudhry Sajid Aslam on Monday, the restriction has been imposed in view of public safety and security concerns. The administration noted that the unauthorized use of drones and quadcopters could pose potential threats to sensitive and important locations and adversely affect the law and order situation.
Under the order, no individual or organization will be permitted to operate or fly any type of drone or quadcopter or engage in their purchase or sale within the territorial limits of Mirpur district. The administration said the restrictions would remain applicable as part of enhanced precautionary security measures.
The district administration warned that violators would face legal action under Section 188 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Penal Code, 1860. It said the measure had been taken as a precautionary step to ensure effective security arrangements and safeguard public safety across the district.
