ATTOCK, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Aug, 2026) Member National Assembly and Supreme Judicial Council member Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on Saturday said development of Attock and provision of basic facilities to citizens were among the government’s top priorities, directing officials to complete all ongoing projects within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high construction standards.
He was presiding over a meeting of the District Coordination Committee attended by WASA Chairman Chaudhry Sher Ali, MPA Malik Aitbar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Attock Dr. Mudassir Ahmad Shah, DPO Captain (Retd.) Ali Bin Tariq, senior administrative officers and other officials. The meeting reviewed progress on various development schemes, particularly those being executed under the Annual Development Programme, with officials briefing participants on their current status and issues affecting implementation.
The meeting was informed that 33 major development schemes were currently underway across Attock district at an estimated cost of more than Rs21.15 billion. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion, effective utilisation of funds and strict adherence to construction standards.
He ordered regular monitoring of the projects and said unnecessary delays would not be tolerated, directing officials to resolve implementation issues through effective coordination.
The meeting also reviewed the district’s law and order situation, with police officials briefing participants on crime, security arrangements and public safety. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said maintaining peace and protecting the lives and property of citizens remained a top priority and urged law enforcement agencies to further strengthen crime prevention and enforcement measures. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mudassir Ahmad Shah assured the meeting that the administration was closely monitoring development projects to ensure transparency, quality and completion according to prescribed targets. Participants agreed to maintain close coordination among departments for timely completion of schemes, improved law and order and provision of basic public facilities.
