ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Sep, 2026) District administration teams arrested 19 people during daily anti-dengue operations in different parts of the Federal capital as authorities intensified action against conditions contributing to mosquito larvae growth.
The campaign is being carried out under ongoing efforts to enforce dengue prevention measures and reduce public health risks.
According to the district administration, action against factors causing the breeding of dengue mosquito larvae is continuing without discrimination across Islamabad.
Assistant Commissioner Pothohar conducted an operation in Sector I-14, where three individuals were arrested for violations linked to dengue prevention regulations. The operation focused on identifying locations and conditions that could support mosquito breeding.
In a separate operation, the Assistant Commissioner Rural carried out inspections in areas under his jurisdiction and ordered the arrest of eight individuals found violating anti-dengue guidelines. The detainees were shifted to police custody following the action.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner City also launched enforcement activities and arrested eight people for failing to comply with dengue prevention standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Officials said the inspections were aimed at ensuring compliance with public health measures and eliminating potential breeding sites.
The district administration stated that monitoring and enforcement activities are being conducted on a daily basis. Field teams are inspecting residential, commercial and public areas to identify and remove conditions that could lead to the spread of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed all relevant departments to ensure strict implementation of anti-dengue SOPs. Officials have been instructed to maintain regular inspections and take action wherever violations are detected.
The administration has also appealed to citizens to cooperate with authorities and follow dengue prevention guidelines. Residents have been urged to keep their surroundings clean, avoid stagnant water accumulation and support inspection teams during field visits.
Officials said public cooperation remains important for the success of the anti-dengue campaign and for reducing the risk of dengue cases in the federal capital.
