MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) A capacity-building training session for college teaching faculty and prize distribution ceremony for divisional-level essay writing and quiz competitions on ’75 Years of Pak-China Diplomatic Relationship’ were held at Government Graduate College for Women, Mumtazabad.
DPI (Colleges) Dr Farid Sharif, Director Colleges Multan Division Tahir Sultan and Deputy Director Colleges Mushtaq Ahmed Mushtaq attended the event as chief guests and guests of honour.
Principal Prof Hufza Aurangzeb and the college faculty and non-teaching staff warmly welcomed the visiting officials and dignitaries.
Deputy Director Colleges Lodhran Adeel Shehzad Malik, Deputy Director Colleges Vehari Aziz Ahmad Tahir, Deputy Director Colleges Khanewal Dr Imran Ahmad, Principal Government Graduate College of Science Multan Qazi Muhammad Khalid, Principal Government Zainab Graduate College Chowk Shahidan Dr Shaista Andleeb and Ms Sumsira Anjum of Government Graduate College for Women, Chungi No. 6, also attended the event.
The programme was conducted by Dr Farheen Nadeem, who kept the audience engaged with her lively and spontaneous compering.
Principal Prof Hufza Aurangzeb delivered a comprehensive lecture on “Disaster Management and Resilience”, highlighting the importance of preparedness, timely response and resilience in dealing with emergencies.
Director Colleges Tahir Sultan appreciated the efforts of college principal and the organisers for arranging the event.
He also commended the college teaching staff for maintaining well-equipped facilities, including the dispensary, daycare centre and IT laboratory.
Dr Farid Sharif, in his address, motivated the students and appreciated the organisers for providing them with opportunities for learning, skill development and healthy competition.
Prof Samah Bashir delivered an engaging lecture on the importance of communication skills, while Dr Haleema Parveen spoke on “Stress Management”, highlighting practical approaches to coping with pressure and maintaining emotional well-being.
In the quiz competition, Shanza Parveen of Government Graduate College for Women, Vehari, won first position, Aneela Noureen of Government Graduate College for Women, Khanewal, secured second and Unzela Shahid of Government Graduate College, Civil Lines, Khanewal, stood third.
In the essay writing competition, Fatima Sarfraz of Government Associate College for Women, Kehror Pakka, secured first position, Laiba Akhtar of the same college won second, while Roshanay Bashir of Government Graduate College for Women, Chungi No. 6, Multan, secured third position.
The chief guests distributed shields and certificates of honour among the winners and high achievers. Shields of honour were also presented to the judges, guests and chief guests in recognition of their contribution to the successful event.
