ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 4,761 new companies during August 2026, reflecting sustained momentum in business formalization, growing entrepreneurial confidence, and the success of SECP’s facilitation and digital transformation initiatives, driven by the seamless functionality of the eZfile portal and near-total (99.9%) online registrations through integrated Federal and provincial systems.
The milestone has pushed the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 311,765.
Commenting on the milestone, Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman SECP, stated that the continuous surge in corporate registrations reflects the growing trust of entrepreneurs and investors in Pakistan’s transparent and business-friendly regulatory framework, powered by our digital transformation initiatives, said a release issued here on Friday.
Private companies continued to account for the largest share of new incorporations, with 2,762 companies (58.01%), followed by 1,846 Single Member Companies (38.78%). In addition, SECP registered 113 Limited Liability Partnerships (2.37%), 28 Not-for-Profit companies (0.59%), and 12 other companies (0.25%) including public companies, foreign and TOs during the month. The sustained preference for private and single-member company structures reflects the growing confidence of startups, SMEs, and entrepreneurs in Pakistan’s corporate regime.
Geographically, Punjab remained the hub of business activity, accounting for 2,547 (53%) of new registrations. This was followed by Islamabad Capital Territory with 843 (18%), Sindh with 702 (15%), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 407 (9%), Gilgit-Baltistan 151 (3%), and Balochistan 111 (2%). The widespread geographical distribution of incorporations demonstrates that entrepreneurial activity continues to expand across all regions of the country.
The Information Technology sector continues to serve as the Primary engine of corporate growth, leading the monthly registrations with 872 new incorporations.
The broader diversification of Pakistan’s corporate landscape is further evidenced by robust performance across other key industries, including Trading (732), Services (601), Construction (295), Tourism (232), food and Beverages (216), E-Commerce (152), Real Estate Development (143), education (129), and Mining and Quarrying (103), with a further 1,286 incorporations across other sectors , reflecting a well-rounded expansion across multiple segments of the economy.
Foreign investors continued to demonstrate confidence in Pakistan’s corporate sector. During August 2026, 134 investors from several countries participated in newly incorporated companies, led by China with 106 investors.
