Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday said the search and rescue team has reportedly located the body of Pakistani climber Dr. Asma Mushtaq “beyond the Camp-III” on the Spantik peak of Gilgit Baltistan.
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st Aug, 2026) Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday said the search and rescue team has reportedly located the body of Pakistani climber Dr. Asma Mushtaq “beyond the Camp-III” on the Spantik peak of Gilgit Baltistan.
“The team is assessing site conditions and finalizing arrangements for safe recovery and controlled evacuation to Base Camp, considering the high-altitude terrain and associated risks,” the minister said while sharing a latest update about the Spantik Peak Search and Rescue operation in a post X formerly Twitter.
