HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th Aug, 2026) On the special instructions of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Sohail Ahmed Rajput, Tamgha Imtiaz, Regional Director of Ombudsman Sindh Hyderabad Region Syed Muhammad Sajjad Haider paid a surprise visit to Rural Health Centre Tando Jam.
During the visit Gohar Masroor, Assistant Commissioner Rural was also accompanied by the Regional Director.
The purpose of the visit was to review the medical facilities provided in the Rural Health Center, attendance of medical staff, availability of medicines, facilities provided to patients and overall administrative matters.
On this occasion, the Regional Director made a detailed inspection of the attendance register, medicine stock register and other related records.
During the visit, the in-charge/administrator Zafar Ahmad Dharijo inspected various departments of the health center and apprised the regional director about the overall performance of the institution.
He said that Rural Health Center, Tando Jam was established on April 1, 1961 and at present it is providing basic medical services to around 12 to 15 areas of the region. He further said that a total of 17 doctors, 26 paramedics and 8 technical and support staff are working in the health center. About 1500 patients are examined daily in the OPD of the health center, while OPD service is provided 7 hours a day.
The health center also has 24-hour normal delivery service.
According to the in-charge/administrator, 6 to 8 normal deliveries are made daily.
Regional Director of EPI Center, various OPD, Laboratory, X-ray and Ultrasound Departments who also made a detailed inspection and reviewed the facilities provided to the patients there. He was told that about 60 ultrasounds are done daily in the health center, while X-ray facility is also available for the patients.
The Regional Director inspected the pharmacy and stores and reviewed the availability of drugs, stock status and related records.
On this occasion, it was also informed that the health center also has dog and snake bite vaccine, so that timely medical assistance can be provided to affected patients in emergency situations.
Apart from these, there are 2 ambulances in the health center, which help in providing emergency medical services to the patients. The health center has a 16 kW solar system during power load, while there are also two 30 kW generators for alternative power supply.
There is also the facility of a filter plant to provide clean drinking water to patients and staff. Regional Director inspected the medical facilities provided during the inspection of various departments, including the presence of staff and other facilities, and overall administrative matters that were reviewed.
