RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th Aug, 2026) On the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, Rawalpindi Police have launched a crackdown against kite flying, kite sellers and suppliers, as well as aerial firing across the city.
According to a police spokesperson, a coordinated strategy has been adopted to take action against those involved in the sale, supply and flying of kites. Online monitoring has also been intensified, while action is being initiated against individuals with previous records of involvement in such activities.
The police will also keep a close watch on the transportation of kites and kite-flying materials through goods transport services and other means to prevent their supply and distribution.
The spokesperson said all available technical and human intelligence resources were being used to monitor kite flying and kite sales. A comprehensive crackdown would be carried out against those involved in the “deadly sport.”
The Rawalpindi Police have also ordered a strict crackdown on aerial firing, with senior police officers directed to personally supervise the operation.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said the police had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against kite flying and aerial firing and that strict action would be taken against violators.
The police urged citizens to discourage kite flying and aerial firing and asked them to report any such activity immediately by calling the emergency helpline 15.
