TANK, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) The outpatient department (OPD) building of a basic health centre was completely destroyed in an overnight blast in Sheikh Sultan area here with no casualties reported.
According to police and local sources, the explosion occurred at around 1 a.m. within the jurisdiction of Gomal Police Station. Unidentified persons allegedly planted explosives inside the healthcare facility, causing extensive damage to the building.
The intensity of the blast was such that its sound was heard in nearby areas, while the OPD building was reduced to rubble.
Police and security personnel rushed to the site following the incident, cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Evidence was also being collected from the scene to determine the nature of the explosion and identify those responsible.
Police said similar attacks on government schools and healthcare facilities had also been reported in the area in the past.
