ABBOTTABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Aug, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has announced Rs200 billion for the Khushhal Hazara Programme, including Rs150 billion for development projects and Rs50 billion for promotion of tourism across Hazara Division.
Addressing a public gathering in Abbottabad, the Chief Minister said the park in the city was a gift from the government of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to the people of Abbottabad. He paid tribute to the people of Abbottabad for supporting the founder of PTI and voting for the party.
Sohail Afridi said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been blessed with immense natural beauty and tourists from across the world visited the province. He said the government was focusing on development and tourism promotion in Hazara Division.
The Chief Minister said urban flooding was a major problem in Abbottabad and Rs1.4 billion had been allocated for its permanent solution.
Regarding the DHQ Hospital Abbottabad, he said funds had already been allocated for the project and additional funds would also be provided. On the request of Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, he announced that the hospital project would be included in the flagship programme and completed on a priority basis.
Sohail Afridi said the people of Abbottabad had actively participated in every protest and expressed confidence that they would also participate in large numbers in the September 27 protest.
“September 27 is the day that will change Pakistan’s destiny,” the Chief Minister said.
