KOHAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Aug, 2026) Kohat police, acting on the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, have intensified their crackdown against drug peddlers and other criminal elements, making several arrests and recovering narcotics and a stolen motorcycle during recent operations.
In this regard on Saturday, Gambat Police, led by SHO Irfan Khan, arrested two suspects, Amir and Waqar, and recovered 1,070 grams of charas from their possession. Police also apprehended Zain, a proclaimed offender wanted in a case involving the luring and abduction of a woman.
In a separate operation, Jerma Police moved swiftly against suspects allegedly involved in a robbery. During a checkpoint, the suspects opened fire at the police party, resulting in Shakir son of Minar Khan being injured by firing from his own accomplice. He was subsequently arrested, while a snatched motorcycle was also recovered.
According to police, Shakir is a habitual offender with an extensive criminal record, including cases of narcotics trafficking, illegal arms, extortion, robbery, explosives and intimidation, with more than a dozen FIRs registered against him in recent years.
Meanwhile, MRS Police recovered a missing motorcycle and returned it to its rightful owner. The citizen, in a video message, expressed gratitude to DPO Kohat and SHO MRS Police for their prompt response and successful recovery of his vehicle.
DPO SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal , while exclusively talking to APP, reiterated that Kohat police would continue indiscriminate action against outlaws to protect the lives and property of citizens. He said no individual would be allowed to take the law into their own hands, adding that strict legal action would be taken against elements involved in disturbing public peace and security.
