HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abideen Memon presided over a meeting on administrative affairs of the district at his office here on Friday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Hyderabad Mahwish Buriro, Municipal Commissioner Hyderabad, all Assistant Commissioners of the district, CEO WASA, officers of Health Department, Rescue 1122, Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), TMO representatives and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
According to a handout, addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner stressed that all departments must perform their duties with utmost responsibility.
He directed all assistant commissioners to conduct inspections of markets, crowded places, warehouses and halls in coordination with SBCA Hyderabad, HMC/TMCs and Civil Defence officials.
He also directed them to verify approved building plans and fire NOCs and ensure that violators face sealing and legal action under magisterial powers.
The deputy commissioner instructed the concerned departments to conduct annual fire safety audits of hospitals, health centers, educational institutions and other public facilities. He called for verification of firefighting equipment, safety nets and alternative staircases, besides taking other necessary safety measures.
DC further directed that evacuation drills be conducted at such facilities and specifically ordered that an emergency drill be held at civil hospital in coordination with rescue 1122.
He also directed the representative of SBCA Hyderabad to ensure that construction of buildings is carried out strictly in accordance with the law.
