Dengue Awareness Session Held At Khurshid Begum Girls College

HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Aug, 2026) An awareness session on dengue prevention was organized by the All Hyderabad Iron Steel Association in collaboration with the District Health Officer Hyderabad, Government of Sindh, on Monday at Khurshid Begum Girls College, Old Bakra Mandi, Loha Market, Hyderabad.

The session aimed to create awareness among students, teachers and citizens about dengue prevention, mosquito breeding control, cleanliness and necessary safety measures.

Addressing the gathering, District Health Officer Hyderabad, Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain briefed participants on precautionary measures to prevent dengue and stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites.

The ceremony was attended by President All Hyderabad Iron Steel Association Maqsood Ahmed Chohan, General Secretary Muhammad Afzal Chohan, Finance Secretary Mahmood Riaz Bhatti, Senior Vice President Pakistan Youth Council Saud Alam, President Shama Commercial Ali Ijaz Rajput, Hashim Malik, Chairman UC 48 Aqeel Rajput, Social Worker Junaid Dahri, Deputy Director Colleges Aftab Sahib and other dignitaries.

On this occasion, President All Hyderabad Iron Steel Association Maqsood Ahmed Chohan said that dengue is a preventable disease and its spread can be largely prevented through timely preventive measures, cleanliness and effective public awareness.

He said that government institutions as well as the business community, educational institutions, social organizations and every citizen will have to play their role to eradicate dengue.

Maqsood Ahmed Chohan further said that adopting the principle of “Clean Environment, Safe Future”, special care should be taken for cleanliness in homes, business centers, educational institutions and surrounding areas and immediate steps should be taken wherever there is a possibility of water accumulation to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.

He said that All Hyderabad Iron Steel Association would continue to fulfill its social responsibilities regarding public welfare and public health and the series of awareness and welfare activities will be continued in the future as well.

The participants termed the organization of awareness session for prevention of dengue as a positive and commendable step and expressed their resolve that joint efforts will be continued to raise awareness regarding health and cleanliness in the society.
